SOS -- the first in the Dun Wheeling Series     SOS is not a distress signal (save our souls), nor does it have anything to do with something on a shingle. To discover what SOS stands for, you have to read the book. Believe me, you'll be glad you did. SOS finds Dun Wheeling dealing with a pompous-ass social climber when he is hired to investigate the possible kidnapping of a wealthy young socialite. Dun has to pull out all the stops and put his life in danger to find her. But once he does, he is tempted to break the most sacred rule of his profession: Don't get involved with a client. Add murder, mystery, unusual characters, wry humor, and romance,  and you have an easy read that's hard to put down. An excerpt from SOS:  (on the lighter side) "You like pants flixed?" came the soft reply in a strong Chinese accent. "Yes, they split on the bottom seam," answered Dun. "We lookie..ah, so, bottom split." "Yes, that's what I just said." "OK, can flix light away," replied the Chinese gentleman, taking Dun's pants and sitting down behind the counter, a needle and thread already in his hand. "By the way, the clock outside is wrong," Dun offered. "Wong clock?" "No, wrong time," replied Dun. "Must be Wong clock." "No, it's your clock, but the time is wrong." "Ah, so, wong time on Wong clock." "Uh, yeah, whatever." "This Wong Tailors." "So I'm just beginning to realize," Dun said with a sigh. Another excerpt:  (on the more serious side) Heintz raised the pistol, pointing it closer to Dun’s head. The silencer, its dark and elongated form protruding from the end of the barrel, made the weapon look even more lethal. The twisted grin on Heintz’s face left no doubt of his intentions.   Dun involuntarily sucked air into his lungs and held it, his instincts taking over as he anticipated the impact of the first round. I'd love to see ten, fifteen, or more. As long as Dun continues to get himself into scrapes, there are beautiful women to be rescued, wacko characters to unleash, and wonderful readers like you out there, I'll keep going. Plus, I love this guy! Dun Wheeling is fun, smart, witty, modest, persistent, stubborn, and has redeeming ethics. He's also a romantic. There should be more Dun Wheeling's running around, but then I'd have competition for my books. Let's just say I've got a hundred Dun Wheeling stories floating around in my head and I plan to write as many as I can before I take a dirt nap. I love to write, and enjoy every moment of writing about Dun Wheeling and his crazy antics.
